  1. Interface Overview

Builder Settings

PreviousConsole AreaNextExporting/Importing Presets & Materials

Last updated 4 months ago

The builder features a Settings menu, accessible when clicked from the button in the lower left corner of the interface.

These settings are useful to tweak how the builder behaves, and are especially important for chossing what textures/materials to take into consideration when opening the Asset Picker.

It's recommended in any case to tweak the paths to narrow down what is shown and to reduce the amount of useless textures/materials listed to the user.

If the builder is opened on a project with an extremely large amount of textures and materials, it can be very slow to open and use, which makes tweaking its values mandatory for speeding up the builder !

Textures Sourcing

Look for textures in -

All Project Content (Default):

  • Will show all the supported textures from the project's full content in the Asset Picker upon opening.

Only Specified Paths:

  • Will show all the supported textures from the specified paths in the Asset Picker upon opening.

  • Clicking + will create a new path. If a folder is selected in the content browser it will be the value set, otherwise it will be a blank value by default.

  • Clicking Remove on a value will remove it form the list, and "Clear" will remove all values.

  • The values can be changed manually by editing their path like any other text box.

Materials Sourcing

Materials Locations

Contains the paths where the materials are searched for.

Before the 3.3 release, they were searched from all the project's content which took more time, but their values can be changed to "/Game" to get the legacy behavior back if needed.

The Master Surfaces Shaders Import feature can be enabled in the "Master Surfaces Shaders" tab if used.

It has been disabled by default to reduce the numbers of materials to check, even if the feature was unused.

Show Control Button

Only Affect Certain Tags:

  • If values are present, the button will only affect the PCG actors having one of the entered tag.

Show the PCG Control button in the top right corner of the Interface. See #12 to learn more.
